While the risks for professional sports people are often similar to their amateur colleagues the consequences of those risks for a professional can be very different. The potential loss of income, loss of sponsorship and damage to future earnings can be very significant following a serious injury. It is important to speak to a broker who understands these risks and can place cover for significant sums insured to protect these elements of a professional sports person’s potential losses.
At Sports Insure we understand the extent of the possible losses for professional sports people and craft their insurance programme around the potential losses that could very seriously impact their livelihood going forward, possibly for many years to come.
Besides sponsorship deals are there bonuses contractually due to be paid based on performance or maybe a diminution of a future transfer value, and if so, how can these be protected?
Professional sports people are not the target market for all insurers; we work with a number of specialist insurers in this area to make sure that the covers we organise are cost-effective and will recompense the injured party for their losses.
In addition, we can provide annual travel covers for professional sports people, to include while they are competing in their chosen sport anywhere in the world or going abroad to practice, train or even go on holiday. Many travel policies will exclude professional sports of any kind and also some hazardous activities. From experience, we know that many professional sports people enjoy other adrenaline sports while abroad and ensure that you are covered for this.
We work with a number of professional sports people to provide them with cover that will help to protect their future earnings in the event of a serious accident. We have experience of working with agents, managers and professional teams to provide cover for their prized asset(s). Covers include: Personal Accident, Equipment insurance, Travel insurance
While the level of the event teams are taking part in may be different, the risks and requirements are often similar. We can help teams going to international, national, regional or local events with their insurance requirements, including: Personal Accident, Equipment insurance, Travel insurance
Many people compete in amateur sport and we have experience of building programmes for all types of amateur sport, usually through the national governing body, who put in place insurances to protect the liabilities of the sport and often the Accident and Injury caused to the competitor. Ways that we can help include: Personal Accident, Equipment insurance, Travel insurance
